Randomness...

You know those personality questionnaires that are forwarded continually through e-mail? You know, the ones that ask you a million very important questions like whether you prefer chocolate or vanilla, your favorite sounds, what you are wearing on your feet...RIGHT NOW, etc... You have to answer the questions, honestly and then send them to a hundred of your (previous) friends so they can get to know you better. I think the real thing they learn about you is you have too much time on your hands. I do love getting those questionnaires back and reading other people's answers though, especially my brother's. He always cracks me up.

Anyway, I have been thinking lately that I haven't received one in a long time. And I kind of want to so I can change one of my answers. I always answer that my biggest fear is sharks. They REALLY scare me, especially when I am in the ocean. But recently, I read that more people are killed each year by coconuts falling on their heads than by shark attacks. So, I want receive one of those questionnaires so I can change my answer. My biggest fear is no longer sharks, I am now most fearful of coconuts. Yes, my biggest fear is that a coconut will fall on my head, unbeknownst to m, and kill me. Another reason I am so glad that I live in Idaho!

Yesterday...

I was getting ready in my bathroom. Of course, Luke was in there getting into all of the drawers and pulling everything out. He was happy, therefore, so was I. He was talking away to me in his whole unknown language. Unknown, that is, to everyone but him, he certainly seems to know what he is saying. Then, from out of the blue, he said as clear as day, "bye-bye," waved and left the room.

Jay brought home his school work from the previous week. They are learning "less than" and "greater than." All of Jay's signs had big jagged teeth on them.

I love my life.

"The wise man is always similar to himself."

I love this excerpt from Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert:

"I've always been so fascinated by these wraith-like, delicate souls. Always wanted to be the quiet girl. Probably precisely because I'm not. It's the same reason I think that thick, dark hair is so beautiful - precilsely because I don't have it, because I can't have it. But at some point you have to make peace with what you were given and if God wanted me to be a shy girl with thick, dark, hair, He would have made me that way, but He didn't. Useful, then, might be to accept how I was made and embody myself fully therein.

Or, as Sextus, the ancient Pythagorian philospher, said, 'The wise man is always similar to himself.'"

What a babe!

This is what I would have looked like in 1954. I was looking at blogs this morning and found this link to Yearbook Yourself on my friend Sara's blog Read Write Believe.

This is me the year I was born...1971 For another laugh, here is my actual yearbook photo. I think I thought I was really hot! I know I had the biggest hair in school!

This is what Yearbook Yourself turned up for the year I graduated, 1990. It's pretty close to the real thing...but my hair was still bigger.

Weekend Images

Luke playing nicely with the "Choo Choo."
Do you think someone has control issues?

Jay had to blind-fold himself and plug his nose to eat the grilled cheese sandwich I made him.
A little over dramatic don't you think?
Luke LOVES playing at the water table. I just have to keep him from drinking that dirty water.
"Hmmmm, she won't let me drink this dirty water...what shall I do?
I wonder if this will work...
I guess not."
"Jay, stop swinging that around!"
"Who me?"

The Fire Cheetas!

Jay had his first soccer game of the season this morning. It was beautiful outside and he played like a champ! I was so proud!!!

The name of his team is "The Fire Cheetas." Luke misunderstood...he kept waiting for them to break out the Cheetos.
Guess who reffed? Yeah, we won!!!
This is what Jay looked like when the game was over...
