I think he honestly he believes he can swim without anyone holding on to him. He moves our hands away. He doesn't want us to hold him and he doesn't like going in the floating tube...and he doesn't like playing on the steps where he can reach. He is a little conflicted.

Oh Luke and Macie are so different!
She loves to hang on the steps, and instists on us having a tight hold of her little body when she swims.
And Jay... he's the kid that gives a nice big splash to cool off all the sunbathers that are dying in the heat (but don't want to ruin their hair).
